Kahekili depicts the life of one of the last great ruling chiefs of Maui through a hula drama that includes Hawaiian chants, kahiko (traditional hula), dramatic interpretation, musical performance, and traditional storytelling. Hokulani Holt-Padilla, creator of this lush and vibrant narrative, is a master of ancient hula dedicated to the preservation of traditional Hawaiian cultural practices. She will also perform in the piece along with Keali'i Reichel, Akoni Akana, Cliff Ahue and Charles Kaupu.
